The Rockettes really Kick off the holiday season
With my 10-year-old niece, I attended this show several years ago. We both loved it just the same, even though she is now 21. The performances have been updated with some new features added while also maintaining the wonder of some long-time favorites such as the classic March of the wooden soldiers. I won’t give any spoiler alerts here.
My seats were in the first 10-rows, which I think add to the enjoyment, especially of the special effects. Several people were openly recording the show with their phones raised as if at a rock concert. It was so obvious yet not one usher came by until one was summoned by another guest who was equally annoyed by their view of the stage being blocked by the bright light of the other person’s cell phone screen.
The line for the restrooms was way too long for a venue of this size. I was disappointed that there was no printed program. It would have been nice to receive even a one-page document outlining the acts as a memento from the occasion. My only complaints (thus the 4 and not 5 star rating).
Are there any performances during the year of the Rockettes by themselves? They are just that spectacular! I don’t want to wait to see them only at Christmas. The diversity of the Rockettes is also a testament of advancements we have made as a country.
In sum, it left me singing with a spirit of Christmas JOY!
